Operated by Nuvi, Inc. (doing business as "Ryvl"). At Nuvi, Inc., we are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our daily fantasy sports app. By accessing or using our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our app and website.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

When you register or engage with Ryvl, we may collect personal information, such as:

  • Contact Information: Email address, phone number, username, and password.
  • Age Verification: Your date of birth, used to confirm that you meet our minimum age requirement.
  • Profile Information: Your display name and any profile photo, avatar, or banner image you choose to upload.
  • Activity Data: Information related to your gameplay, predictions, and user engagement.
  • Performance Data: Your scores, achievements, and contest results which may be used for leaderboard functionality.

1.2 Non-Personal Information

We may collect non-personal information through cookies and other technologies:

  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and—on our mobile apps—device model, device identifiers, app version, and time zone.
  • Usage Information: Pages visited, time spent on the app, and gameplay statistics.
  • Diagnostic Data: Crash reports and performance data that help us diagnose problems and improve stability.

Some of this information (for example, your IP address and analytics identifiers) may constitute personal data under applicable laws such as the GDPR. For visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, data collected through analytics cookies is processed only with your consent, as described in Section 1.3 below.

1.3 Cookies, Analytics, and Diagnostic Tools

Our website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors interact with our pages. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _gid) to distinguish visitors and measure usage. This may involve transferring data, including your IP address, to Google servers in the United States.

In addition to standard page-view measurement, we send a small number of named interaction events to Google Analytics so we can see how visitors engage with key calls to action. These include app_store_click and play_store_click (recorded when you tap our App Store or Google Play download buttons, including which button you used) and add_to_cart (recorded when you add a merchandise item to your cart, including the product name, variant, price, and currency). These events describe interactions and product details only — they do not contain your name, email address, or other directly identifying information.

Our mobile apps use Google's Firebase services — including Firebase Analytics (app usage), Crashlytics (crash reporting), Performance Monitoring, and App Check (anti-abuse verification) — to keep the apps stable and understand how features are used. These tools may process device identifiers, app and device information, and diagnostic data.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics cookies on our website are only set after you provide consent via our cookie banner, and the legal basis for this processing is your consent. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the website footer; withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

1.4 Chat and Social Features

Ryvl includes chat and group features. When you send messages, create or join rooms, or set a display name or avatar, that content and the associated profile information are transmitted to and stored on our chat infrastructure (built on the Matrix protocol) so other participants can see your messages. If you search for GIFs inside chat, your search terms are sent to Tenor (a Google service) to return results. Please remember that information you post in shared rooms is visible to other members.

1.5 Mobile App Permissions and Push Notifications

With your permission, our mobile apps may request access to certain device features. We use each only for the purpose described, and you can change these permissions at any time in your device settings:

  • Camera: to take photos to share in chat and to scan QR codes.
  • Photos: to let you choose images for your profile or to share in chat.
  • Notifications: to send you push notifications about your account, predictions, and chats.
  • Approximate location / time zone: to deliver notifications at appropriate times. We do not use this to track your precise movements.

To deliver push notifications, we register a device token with Apple Push Notification service (on iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (on Android and the web). You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing Services: To facilitate gameplay, manage your account, and support skill-based contests.
  • Personalization: To tailor your experience and provide recommendations based on your usage and preferences.
  • Communication: To send account updates, respond to inquiries, and inform you of new features, promotions, or changes to our policies.
  • Email Updates: If you join our waitlist or subscribe on our website, to send you a welcome email and occasional updates about Ryvl. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Account Verification: To verify your phone number by sending a one-time passcode by SMS when you sign up or sign in.
  • Push Notifications: To send notifications about your account, predictions, contests, and chat activity, where you have allowed them.
  • Compliance and Security: To verify eligibility, prevent fraud, and ensure the security of our platform.
  • Leaderboards and Social Features: To display your username, scores, and achievements on leaderboards and to facilitate social interaction within the app.

3. Global Leaderboards and Data Sharing

3.1 Leaderboard Data

By using Ryvl, you acknowledge and consent that certain personal information, including your username and game scores, will be uploaded to our servers and may be displayed on global leaderboards visible to other users. This data is essential for:

  • Displaying your position relative to other players
  • Recording historical performance
  • Facilitating competitions and contests

3.2 Opt-Out Options

You may opt out of having your information displayed on public leaderboards by adjusting your privacy settings within the app or contacting customer support to request removal. Please note that opting out may limit your ability to participate in certain contests or features.

4. How We Share Your Information

Nuvi, Inc. does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with trusted third parties in limited scenarios:

  • Service Providers: We share information with trusted vendors who help us operate Ryvl, including: Google LLC (Google Analytics, and Firebase analytics, crash reporting, and push messaging); Twilio (SMS one-time passcodes for phone verification); Mailtrap (delivery of our website emails); Cloudflare (website and API hosting, image delivery, and bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile); Shopify (our merchandise store and checkout — payments are processed directly by Shopify, so we never receive or store your card details); Tenor (GIF search in chat); a third-party sports-data provider (match and league information); and Slack (internal notifications to our team). These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to respond to legal processes.
  • Business Transfers: If Nuvi, Inc. (DBA Ryvl) is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4.1 International Data Transfers

Several of our service providers (including Google, Mailtrap, Shopify, Twilio, and Cloudflare) are based in or process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on an appropriate safeguard such as your consent (for analytics), an adequacy decision, or Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. However, no transmission over the internet or storage system is completely secure. We encourage you to take precautions and protect your login information.

6. Your Choices and Rights

6.1 Account Information

You may review, update, or delete your account information by logging into your account settings.

6.2 Communication Preferences

You can opt-out of receiving promotional communications from us by following the unsubscribe link in our emails. However, you may still receive account-related messages.

6.3 Do Not Track

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature. Currently, Ryvl does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

7. Children's Privacy

Our platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Nuvi, Inc. (DBA Ryvl) may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website and indicating the date of the update. Your continued use of our app constitutes acceptance of these changes.

9. User Consent

When you first use our app, you will be prompted to provide explicit consent for:

  • The collection and processing of your personal information as described in this policy
  • The uploading of your scores and username to our servers for display on global leaderboards
  • Receiving essential communications about your account and the service
  • On our website, where required in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the use of Google Analytics (managed through our cookie banner and Google Consent Mode)
  • Any device permissions our mobile apps request, which you grant or decline through your device's prompts
